Redhills Stud is owned and run by Karl & Jenny Heffernan with the help of our fantastic team. The yard is set in 80 acres are the foot of the picturesque Redhills 1.5 kms from Kildare town and 2 km from the M7 motorway. We are lucky to be located in the beating heart of equestrianism in Co.Kildare; easily accessible to major show and event venues plus being surrounded by the very best of veterinary practices in the country.
We both have a lifelong interest in horses, breeding and farming. It was our mission to build and run a top class purpose built livery yard and training centre incorporating the very best design features and management practices garnered over our years involved with horses both in Ireland on the Continent. 8 years ago we started the transformation of a green field site comprising of arable and grassland into what Redhills Stud is today. In February 2012 we officially opened our stable doors for business for the first time. Every year we continue to expand and improve with the ultimate goal of developing one of the best equestrian facilities in the country.
At Redhills Stud the horse is our most important customer. Our yard design and management is focused on optimising our horses’ well-being, both physical and mental, at all times. Once our horses are happy we have happy owners too!
Redhills Stud also operates as a high class training centre. We run multiple clinics throughout the year across all disciplines with the very best Instructors and clinicians both from Ireland and abroad.
We are also passionate about breeding and producing top Irish Sport Horses. Nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing our young horses going on to fulfil their potential whether that be in jumping, eventing, dressage or hunting. We maintain a small select herd of broodmares and use the very best stallions in the world from the both showjumping and eventing lines.
